Songfacts®:

  • Camila Cabello has fallen for a bad boy on this lustful banger. He has "a black leather jacket, a bad reputation, insatiable habits," so it's no shock her mom has reservations.

My, my, my, my, my oh my
My mama doesn't trust you, baby
My, my, my, my, my oh my
And my daddy doesn't know you, no

Until now Camila has been a "good girl," but not anymore; now she wants to spend the night with this dude.
  • The "bad boy" here is DaBaby, who boasts about being the type of guy "to make her turn on her daddy." This is the first time that Cabello has worked with the North Carolina rapper.
  • Produced by Frank Dukes and Savan Kotecha, the song is traditional Latin meets modern R&B-pop beats. It is a more salacious version of Cabello's hit song "Havana," which Dukes also worked on.
  • Dave Myers directed the old-fashioned, black-and-white style video. Cabello stars as a 1920s actress, who tired of being the damsel in distress, meets an emerging movie director, portrayed by DaBaby. The pair hit it off, and DaBaby hires Cabello to play the lead in his La Bonita Blade color production.

Cabello previously worked with Myers on her "Havana" clip.
  • Cabello and her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, under quarantine together as the coronavirus swept through the world, performed this on the March 29, 2020 "Living Room Concert For America," a benefit adapted for the age of sheltering in place. Hosted by Elton John, the virtual concert featured performances from the homes of Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Dave Grohl, and several other stars.
  • Cabello dropped a remix featuring a new verse from Gunna on May 1, 2020.
  • Alongside the remix, Cabello also released a dance video for the song the same day. Filmed during the 20 coronavirus pandemic, we see the singer and the dancers calling each other through FaceTime before performing in their homes and local parks. The video was choreographed by Cabello's long time collaborators Calvit Hodge Jr. and Sara Biv.
