Songfacts®:

  • This is the opening track from Chuck, the late rock and roll legend's first album of new material since 1979. Berry had been working on the record since 1991. The song, like the rest of the album, is dedicated to Themetta "Toddy" Berry, the musician's wife of 68 years.

"This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy," Berry said. "My darlin', I'm growing old! I've worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!"
  • The song was recorded with the help of Berry's son, Charles Jr., his grandson, Charles III, and the iconic blues guitarist Gary Clark Jr.
