• This hard-hitting ballad is a track from the second volume of Coheed and Cambria's double concept album, The Afterman: Descension. The disc details the return of Amory to his home planet and what he encounters after he arrives.
• Frontman Claudio Sanchez explained the track covers the subject of "the duality of human nature." He added, "It's natural to try to hide the more sinister facets of ourselves from the people we care about, but to ever truly share a life with another person, that dark side needs to make its way out into the open."
• Robert Schober directed the song's music video. He has also helmed clips for the likes of Green Day, The Killers and Mastodon.
• Talking about the The Afterman: Descension album, guitarist Travis Stever told us: "It deals with love, loss. The songs come from a real place. When Claudio writes lyrics they're coming from a real place. And it starts as music. When we write music for a song, whether it be the smallest guitar part to the drums, it's not dictated by the concept, it's dictated by the song being the best it can be. Kind of letting the song be our muse."
  
  Claudio Sanchez does most of the songwriting in the band, but Stever co-wrote this one. Sanchez wrote to the riff Stever came up with.
