  • According to Robert Kimball in The Complete Lyrics Of Cole Porter, "Bingo Eli Yale" was written in 1910 for a football song competition. It was introduced at the Yale Dining Hall dinner concert by Eddie Wittstein and his Orchestra on October 29; the words were later printed in the Yale Daily News.
  • After graduating from Yale, Porter studied law at Harvard. The song is also known as "Bingo, That's The Lingo!" and continues to be sung at Yale into the 21st century. >>>
