  • Hey guys! Meet Corook, a singer-songwriter born and raised just outside of downtown Pittsburgh. Her love for music started in middle school and eventually led her to Berklee College of Music where she earned not one, but TWO degrees! Signed by Atlantic Records, Corook dropped her debut EP, achoo!, in April 2022 - a project she mostly produced herself!
  • Fun fact: Born Corinne Savage, Corook is a malapropism of her first name.
  • Corook is active on TikTok and went viral with her song "It's Ok" in 2022. On April 11, 2023, Corook posted a new TikTok video featuring her and her girlfriend, Olivia Barton, performing an acoustic duet called "If I Were a Fish." It took the platform by storm receiving over 1.3 million likes in just a couple of weeks. The song inspired thousands of videos with TikTokkers creating dance routines, sing-alongs and even fish costumes!
  • The song's self-empwering lyric celebrates the beauty of each and every individual, comparing them to a shimmering fish.

If I were a fish and you caught me
You'd say, 'Look at that fish shimmering in the sun'
Such a rare one, can't believe you caught one
If I were a fish and you caught me
You'd say, 'Look at that fish, heaviest in the sea'
You'd win first prize if you caught me
  • Get this - Corook whipped the track with Olivia's help in just 10 minutes! She was feeling emotional, insecure, and out of place, and this song just poured out of her.

"I'm in a place in my adulthood where I am allowing myself to be the most me I can fathom being and I have never felt so out of place in my life," Corook shared. "Whether it be the genre of music I make to my gender identity, I don't feel like I fit in anywhere. As I was crying about this to my girlfriend, Olivia Barton, she said 'let's make a song to feel better and we should make it as weird as possible.' The first thing I said was 'if I were fish I think people would appreciate all the things I am more.' Thus became, if I were a fish."
  • Just a week after first teasing the song on TikTok, Corook and Olivia Barton recorded "If I Were A Fish" and officially released it on YouTube and Spotify.
