  • Michel Gondry directed the video. He has quite an imagination, and for this song, he had different characters representing different sounds in the song all moving around a circle.

    Among the characters are four disco girls moving up and down a set of stairs, symbolizing the ascending/descending bass guitar. Gondry recalled to NME: "Chic always makes me dance. When I did the video for 'Around The World' I built the stairs for the dancers because every time I hear the bassline from 'Good Times' I picture a little guy going up and down the stairs."
  • Daft Punk are the French duo of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They recorded a track with the English band Stereolab called "Cindy So Loud," which was described as "Daft Punk" (meaning they didn't like it) by the British music magazine Melody Maker. This provided the name for the band. Their first album, which includes this track, was called "Homework" because they recorded it in Bangalter's home studio. >>

  • Dances With Air from Näht Space"Quin from Alpine, Ut," was COOL for providing SONG FACTS...

    on a website...

    entitled...

    Song Facts, "Erik from Fairfield County, Ct."

    This is...pretty much, the exact POINT, PURPOSE, and reason we flock to this website...

    for...songs'

    ...facts.

    Thereby, thereto, and therefore, "Quin from Alpine, Ut" "understood the assignment," and did the exact, perfect, flawless, and fabulous thing...by contributing...facts... about a REALLY über, super, duper fun song to dance like a robot to...

    Had this website been named "Hurtful Comments that were extremely unnecessary and mean and stuff..." you would have "...Erik from Fairfield County, Ct" "understood the assignment," fulfilled it, and received a compliment from my imaginary high horse 'o greatness. BUT ...since it's not, then you can't, and I won't.

    I have spoken!

    Now that I have done that above which I have just told you that I just did...do...I shall continue with what I was doing, before I stopped doing that...to do this...because, because, "Quin from Alpine, Ut," and his/her honor...was SO totally worth it!

    Speaking of AWESOME SAUCE makers of comments on this commenting thingy: "Ben from Hillsborough, Nj," who penned the following, ALSO in defense of "Quin from Alpine, Ut:"

    "I suggest you stop getting into what other people want to do, and get on with your own life,"

    is...again... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ...TOO!

    There!

    I have again spoken!

    I, and my imaginary, non-existent outside of my imagination, greatness, shall go back to preparing my peanut butter and jelly or not peanut butter and jelly sandwich or not sandwich as all of this typing has brought me to a place of great hunger.... Either that, or I was hungry beforehand!

    Probably...the latter!

    P.S. Perhaps "...Erik from Fairfield County, Ct..." you were having a pretty crummy day, and you're actually duper duper über fantastic and awesome, like Quin and Ben...and me (in my imagination...but not so much in real life ...kinda...ermm), but were having a nit so very good, but instead, really no good, pretty bad, awful (as opposed to awesome!) DAY! Like that kid...in that book...that I never read...but like the title thereof...but kinda butchered it just now!

    Anyway, if that's the case (and even if it's not) I like how your name is spelled. It's cool! "C's" are cool (the word "cool even starts with the letter c...so there's that!), but it's more like, hip to just have the k for like a European traditional type theme... because it's not as common to see .at least not in the USA...I mean...maybe Europe though .. probably Sweden?

    I don't know! Never been!

    But, I hope that you, Quin, and Ben, and all of the other one, two, three or more syllabled humans will have a great day, and that, even if this day finds you not so great, that The Lord God Jesus Christ will hug you, help you to have what you need to have more fabulous days, and, a super fantastic eternity... one day...with Him!!

    ***I hope this for all humans!

    Signing off,

    just not from space or anything!

    Ciao!

    Or...to be a bit more apropos "CHOW!"

    ...But only because empty and not so empty calories await me!

    GOD bless you, Erik, Ben, and the coolest (because you're the reason for the comments and love... expressed) Quin!!!

    Peace...to the Middle East and to all other people beings!!
  • Ian from Oklahoma City, OkIn the music video, the characters are supposed to represent the different instruments.

    It goes something like this:

    Androids = The repeating vocals
    Swimsuit Dancers = High-pitched synth
    Skeletons = Low-pitched synth
    Strange Athletes = Bass
    Mummies = Drums

  • Jason from San Francisco, CaI think this song has a great beat to it. It's so neat the way they say "around the world a-round the wo-orld around the world"
  • Ben from Hillsborough, NjI suggest you stop getting into what other people want to do, and get on with your own life.
  • Erik from Fairfield County, CtQuin, if you do that then I suggest you find something better to do with your life.
  • Quin from Alpine, UtI counted myslef and came up with 146 "around the world" lines...
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesI think this would have made a good instrumental - it was ruined by the distorted voice repeating "Around The World" over and over. Follw-up single "Burning" was even better
  • Paul from Galway, Irelandunreal pokemon, yugioh type video. really captured the drama of the girl and the lead singer. but the fat drummer ruined it. great floorfiller
