Songfacts®:

  • This song is a collaboration between David Guetta and Showtek. The latter is a Dutch production duo comprising brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, who are best known for their 2013 hit single "Booyah."
  • The song features vocals from Australian singer-songwriter Vassy. Darwin native Vasiliki "Vassy" Karagiorgos' parents are both Greek immigrants. She was discovered in 2003 after winning Australian radio station Triple J's Unearthed talent contest. Vassy was the first Australian solo artist to reach the #1 spot on the US dance charts when her single "We Are Young" reached the top of Hot Dance Club Songs.
  • This was released on March 17, 2014 as a single. It reached the Top 10 in many charts throughout the world, peaking at #1 in Finland and Norway.
  • Showtek explained how the collaboration came about in a November 2014 interview with Billboard magazine. "Last year, David invited us to support him at Pacha Ibiza, and after a few times, he invited us to his home studio to listen to music," they said. "He was the first artist we ever showed Booyah' to, and he was crazy about it."

"He said we needed to work on a track together," they continued. "He was working on his album when we met him, so he had so many songs and so many ideas. He said, 'Let's do something together and see where it ends up.' So we did 'Bad' together, which is one of the songs on his album."
