Songfacts®:

  • This song about two people supporting each other in tough times is a collaboration between David Guetta and Sia. It marks the eighth time the duo have worked together on a Guetta track, following "Titanium," "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)," "Wild One Two," "The Whisperer," "Bang My Head," "Light Headed," and the most-played song in 2018 on European radio, "Flames."
  • Guetta recorded the dance-pop romp during the COVID pandemic and released it on September 11, 2020. The French DJ said he was inspired to drop energetic, uplifting music during the lockdown that would help people dance away their quarantine blues.

"I love producing club tracks but at the same time, especially now, I feel like creating 'feel-good' music," he explained. "'Let's Love' is a message of love, hope and bringing people together and once again, Sia has outdone herself on the vocals."
  • Speaking to Fleur East and James Barr on Hits Radio, Guetta recalled the story of the song: "It was in the middle of confinement (lockdown) and everyone was so depressed, and I was watching the news, I was like 'okay I need to stop watching the news.' I texted Sia and said, 'we need to save the world like superheroes! We need to make a happy song.' And because she's such a genius she took my little text message and made a song in 24 hours, it was really crazy."
  • Guetta and Sia wrote the song with:

Dutch producer Giorgio Tuinfort, who is one of Guetta's go-to collaborators. Their previous hookups include "Titanium," "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)," "Lovers On The Sun," "This One's For You," and "Say My Name."

Dutch producer, songwriter, and musician Marcus Van Wattum, who is known for writing and producing songs with Guetta ("Bang My Head") and for Britney Spears ("It Should Be Easy").
  • Guetta's throwback production was born out of his love for US singer Pat Benatar's 1983 song "Love Is A Battlefield." The French DJ explained to Official Charts that when he sent Sia the piano chords to work with, she responded with a ballad 24 hours later.

"But then when I was thinking of how to produce it, I wanted it to feel happier," Guetta added. "If I think of a period of time when music was so happy and feel-good, it's probably the '80s. As a dance producer, I love synths and the 80s was the beginning of all those analogue synths, so it all happened naturally."

Sia expressed surprise when he sent her the produced version because she wasn't expecting something so optimistic. "I made it on my laptop because I had no studio and she recorded it at home without a sound engineer or anything," said Guetta. "We made it like amateurs but the result is not bad!"
