Songfacts®:

  • This is one of three tracks on Listen that Dutch sibling electronic music duo Showtek show up on. After laying down "Bad" with Guetta in 2013, the Janssen brothers spent a fortnight working on new songs with him in the studio in January 2014. It then took the trio another half a year to complete "No Money, No Love" and "Sun Goes Down" due to their touring schedules.
  • Showtek explained the collaboration to Billboard magazine: "David enters the studio with a song as an idea of how the song should be about. For him, it starts with a lyric, and for us it's about having a catchy melody. When you put that together, you have great ingredients that can work together."

"We made 25 versions of "No Money No Love," because he's really detail-oriented and everything must be perfect," they added. "It took at least six months, because you don't see each other every day to make it really fit and have new vocal sessions and trips to see each other."
  • The song features vocal contributions from the Swedish singer and rapper Elliphant and the UK Garage legend Ms. Dynamite. The later also supplied vocals on Katy B's second single, "Lights On" and the DJ Fresh Versus Jay Fray hit track "Dibby Dibby Sound."
