Songfacts®:

  • This was released as the first single from the re-release of David Guetta's fifth studio album, Nothing But The Beat 2.0. The French DJ/producer premiered the track on July 29, 2012 during a gig at the Belgian festival Tomorrowland. The song was released in most territories on August 24, 2012.
  • The song features Australian singer-songwriter Sia, who previously collaborated with Guetta on his hit single "Titanium." The pair also worked together on "Wild One Two," a remix of Flo Rida's hit single, "Wild Ones."
  • Sia originally wrote the song with Cher in mind. The Australian singer-songwriter tweeted regarding the American star. "I wrote that for Cher. Can't you hear me giving my Cher? I'm giving it my Cher. I love Cher. It's so Cher!"
  • The video was shot by Japanese-American USC film school graduate Hiro Murai (Childish Gambino, Earl Sweatshirt, The Shins). He filmed the clip on location in Iceland, at Langjökull, the second largest ice cap on the island, and on the Reykjanes peninsula. "The landscape looked alien -- there were no trees, it was all volcanic rock," Murai told Billboard magazine. "We filmed all over southwest Iceland because it was one of the only countries that had snow in August."
