Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from No Zip Code finds David Lee Murphy duetting with Kenny Chesney. The "Setting the World on Fire" singer produced the album along with Buddy Cannon, Chesney's longtime collaborator.
  • Chesney has recorded plenty of Murphy's songs, such as "Living in Fast Forward" and "Live a Little," so he was glad to return the favor by helping out on this cut.

"When David Lee sent me the song 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright,'" Chesney recalled, "it just made me happy. It just made me smile, and that's what I believe music is supposed to do. When we finished the record that was our hope, that it would make people happy and that it would make people smile."
  • The song was David Lee Murphy's first Top 30 country hit since 2004's "Loco."
