Songfacts®:

  • This melancholic number is the second single released by Country music artist David Nail from his debut album, I'm About to Come Alive. Nail first entered the Country charts in 2002 with his debut single, "Memphis," but had to wait seven years before an album was released, during which he took a break from the music business to help coach a baseball team.
  • The song is about the narrator's lover announcing that she wants to end their relationship as they wait in their car at a red light. It was written by Jonathan Singleton, Dennis Matkosky and Melissa Pierce. Other hit singles Singleton has co-written include "Watching Airplanes" by Gary Allen, "Don't" by Billy Currington and "Why Don't We Just Dance" by Josh Turner.
  • Nail commented in publicity materials that this song "shows a different perspective of a break up. It's not your typical situation since it describes a beautiful day and everything seeming to be perfect, but that's what makes it unique."
