  • This unusual instrumental appears on Deep Purple, the third album recorded by the supergroup, and features the original line up; it was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios in February and March of 1969, and was released in June that year in the US and November in the UK.
  • According to the liner notes, the band recorded this when they realized they were going to be in Los Angeles "at earthquake time." The drum track was recorded first - with the organ - and then reversed. "Fault Line" runs straight into the next track, "The Painter." >>>
