Album: The Battle Rages On... (1993)

Songfacts®:

  • Written by Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, "Ramshackle Man" runs to 5 minutes 34 seconds and is Track 6 on the 1993 album The Battle Rages On... According to the author Michael Heatley, the lyric could have been written in the 1970s and is biographical (probably autobiographical, i.e. by Ian Gillan), and is similar to the later "Spanish Archer." Ritchie Blackmore was said to have been dissatisfied with the album, although there is certainly nothing wrong with his axework on this track. >>>
