Songfacts®:

  • Born in Los Angeles to Mexican parents, Erick Orrosquieta began his DJ career at the age of 14 playing at local gigs. Within three years he was producing his own tracks under the stage name of Deorro. His debut single, "Yee" released in 2013 received global club play and charted in a number of countries particularly in Europe.
  • Originally a hit instrumental in Europe titled "Five Hours," this electro-house anthem was especially successful in Belgium and France where it reached the Top 10 in 2014. Deorro released a second vocal version in America as "Five Hours (Don't Hold Me Back)" featuring DyCy as guest performer. The single reached #1 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, giving Deorro his first chart-topper in his home country.
  • Deorro dropped a third version of "Five Hours" in 2015 featuring vocals from Chris Brown. The kudos of the American star gave the release additional sales momentum, aided by Breezy crashing Deorro's set at Coachella when he performed the song to an excited crowd.
  • The song's music video was directed by Andrew Sandler and features Chris Brown and rapper Travi$ Scott breaking down on a deserted desert highway on their way to Coachella. Deorro picks Breezy up in his school bus, leaving Scott behind. Naturally, his transport is full of beautiful female ravers.
