  • Dex Romweber is the first to admit that he's been unlucky in love, touting life as a touring musician as a roadblock to building long-term relationships. "Is That You In The Blue?" is a pretty love song with a vintage feel that appears on Dex Romweber Duo's 2011 album of the same name. In a 2019 interview with Songfacts, Romweber shared how one of those lost loves led him to write "Blue," particularly one sweetly acidic line:

"'Is That You In The Blue?' was written about a woman named Tracy, an actress - not well known, but interesting. She had written me saying, 'Look, I'm settling down with this guy, I have kids, you don't have a place in my life no matter what we shared, so get lost.' And I think that I wrote that line ['I hope you find loneliness within whatever dark night you're in'] in reference to, you know, 'I hope you have dark nights in whatever loneliness you're in, sweetie.' It's the nature of the beast, you know?"
