  • This track features Riff Raff, OG Maco and K-Pop singer CL. Speaking with The Fader about the origins of the song's chorus, CL said: "Diplo canceled a session on me, and I was so mad at him. I was drinking a can of Dr. Pepper and wrote the song so I could go home as soon as possible. Diplo ended up loving it!"

Diplo added about the collaboration with the South Korean recording artist. "CL and I go back a long way, from the first time YG [Entertainment, South Korean entertainment company] contacted me about six years ago. I've been active in CL's first full-length album, mostly trying to find a right balance between glossy K-pop attitude and keeping CL positioned where she belongs - as the baddest coolest female out right now."

"'Doctor Pepper' is something that might not register that well with actual K-pop, seeing as it's a straight Atlanta-style rap record, but the net around K-pop is so wide that it can be anything with confidence and style," he continued. "That's what CL brings to it."
  • In 1885 a young pharmacist called Charles Alderton was working and serving carbonated soft drinks at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store, in Waco, Texas. A Dr. Charles Pepper owned the shop and the young pharmacist was engaged to his daughter. Having noted that customers soon tired of drinking the same old fruit flavors, the inventive Alderton decided to make something new by blending several fruit extracts.

After numerous experiments, he finally created one he liked, which he named Dr. Pepper after his employer and prospective father-in-law. (Source The Encyclopedia of Trivia).
