Songfacts®:

  • This bass-cranked dance jam finds Nick Jonas singing in his trademark falsetto about making some body moves. He penned the song with Swedish music producer and songwriters Rami Yacoub, Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark. The latter trio previously contributed three tracks to One Direction's Take Me Home album including the single "Kiss You."
  • The song's steamy music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis (Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj). "She shot so many amazing iconic videos, especially [for] some of the most amazing female artists," Joe Jonas told ABC Radio regarding the director.

"I happen to go to the same gym with her, so we were working out and talking about the video, coming up with concepts, rather than just over the phone or in a meeting," he added. "And I feel like it's the perfect video for DNCE."
  • The video shows Joe Jonas stripping off and getting intimate with model/actress, Charlotte McKinney. "I was not holding back. None of us were. We went for it," said Jonas.

"It was that freedom that you feel sometimes, in a moment or with somebody special, and you're kind of getting to know each other and... no one's watching you," he added. "And that's what we really had to go for. We made sure the cast felt that way, and everyone was comfortable on set, and it just got insane at moments."
