Songfacts®:

  • At the end of a club night, the strippers take plastic bags and gather up all of the money from the floor. This song finds Drake and Future taking turns to croon the hook, in which they urge a stripper to:

    Get a plastic bag
Go ahead and pick up all the cash
Go ahead and pick up all the cash
You danced all night, girl, you deserve it
  • Prior to the release of What a Time to Be Alive Drake posted an Instagram post including the line "Put it all in ta plastic bag." This led fans to deduce that 'Put It All In A Plastic Bag' was going to be the title of their mixtape.
  • During a conversation that Swedish shoe polish salesman William Hamilton had with the owner of Strom shoe shop in 1960, he discovered the paper bags given to customers to carry home their shoes were falling apart. Hamilton persuaded Swedish plastics manufacturer Akerlund & Rausing to make plastic carriers for Strom's shoes. These were the first plastic bags.
