  • Dustin Lynch grew up in the small town of Tullahoma, Tennessee listening to his heroes: George Strait, Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. However, his first band was an Incubus cover band. His bandmates hated country but liked his voice, so he took the gig.
  • Music was always Lynch's dream but his parents urged him to attend college, so he decided on a compromise. In 2003 Lynch made the 90-mile move to Nashville in order to attend David Lipscomb University where he graduated with a biology degree.
  • Lynch had rented an apartment near to the Bluebird Café, the songwriters club, which was instrumental in the development of such stars as Garth Brooks and Faith Hill. He regularly attended the venue and gradually began writing and playing shows himself in the Music City as well as the neighboring college circuit. In 2010, Lynch signed a publishing deal with Super 98/The Song Factory and he inked a record deal with Broken Bow Records the following year.

"You just start taking steps," Lynch said. "I took a step and got in a band in high school. I took a step and came to Nashville and talked my way into the The Bluebird Café. I took another step and recorded a little five-song album in a basement in one day. These are little milestones and you don't even realize they are huge building blocks to where we are today. It's always something I dreamed of doing. I'm just glad I was dumb enough to give it a shot."
  • Before he earned a living through music, Lynch took a job in a sewage treatment testing facility. He recalled to The Boot: "With my biology degree, I got this job at an environmental lab: We tested sewage runoff, we tested chemical warfare waste runoff. It's a job I'll never do again and I would never wish upon anybody. It was motivation to get my music in gear, though; it was the kick in the butt I needed. In desperation, you make things happen."
  • Asked by The Boot what his worst habit is, Lynch replied: "Not being able to turn off. I'm a laid-back guy, but my brain is always wrapped up in music."
  • Dustin Lynch obtained his pilot's license in January 2023. "I didn't realize how free you feel whenever you can hop in an airplane and go wherever you want to go and it opens a whole new world," he told Entertainment Tonight, shortly after he'd started his lessons. "Those that fly know what I'm talking about."
  • Dustin Lynch started hosting pool parties in 2015 as part of Luke Bryan's annual Crash My Playa festival in Mexico. He started making them standalone events in 2021 branded as "Pool Situation" parties. Anything can happen at these shindigs - mullet makeovers are a recurring feature, and special guests like Little Big Town, Hardy and Jordan Davis have performed.
  • Dustin Lynch's flashy cowboy boots are a standout piece of his stage attire. Custom-made by his friend Daniel Diamond, his distinctive footwear features rhinestones, camo patterns and metal tips.
