  • Dustin Lynch was raised in the small town of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Here, he sings of the sort of guy he grew up with. "I don't specifically know that dude, but I have a picture of that guy because I know a lot of them in middle Tennessee," he told Billboard. "I'm now getting to tour all over the place, and I realize that those guys - the small town boys - are all over the world."
  • Lynch first got the idea for the song after a friend posted a group of videos of "a rager in his farm truck" to Snapchat. It took months of pondering over the idea before Lynch completed the track with Ashley Gorley and Zach Crowell.
  • The song incorporates a variety of aspects of small-town country life, including driving down dirt roads and summer nights spent sharing a beer with buddies. One of the lyrics was inspired by Lynch's cousins.

I don't know where we are
Because somebody stole the street signs
    I'mma take my sweet time

Lynch's cousins got caught with over 30 street signs in their attic when they were in high school. "When you're riding roads, sometimes you want to impress your friends and the girls and steal street signs," the singer recalled. "That line literally came from that memory of them getting caught and going to jail. I think because that was a hard-earned memory, that's probably my favorite line."
  • Lyrically, the R&B-influenced song is set in the same universe as Lynch's 2017 hit tune "Small Town Boy." The track also incorporates some hip-hop elements and Lynch tries his hand at rapping in the verses.
  • That's Nashville singer-songwriter Sarah Buxton who is singing harmonies with Lynch.
