Songfacts®:

  • Ukulele Songs is the second solo studio album by American singer and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. It comprises original songs and covers all played on the ukulele. This song finds Vedder mourning the loss of someone after "half our lives together."
  • Vedder explained in an interview with Rolling Stone that as a huge fan of The Who, he was partially inspired by the use of the ukulele on the British band's "Blue, Red and Grey," which he admits to "plagiarizing" on Pearl Jam's 2000 track "Soon Forget."
