Songfacts®:

  • Edens Edge is an American country music trio comprising lead vocalist Hannah Blaylock and guitarists and harmony vocalists Dean Berner and Cherrill Green. All three members grew up in rural Arkansas and they moved to Nashville in 2007 after meeting Nashville songwriter Kye Fleming. Edens Edge signed with Big Machine Records and released this song as their debut single in April 2011.
  • Blaylock co-wrote the song with Nashville songwriters Skip Black, Catt Gravitt and Gerald O'Brien drawing from her rural experiences. "We all grew up in small towns and in Arkansas there is a church on every corner," she said. "Amen" is a fresh depiction of a small town love story. Everybody knows everybody else and gossip gets around and it paints a picture of that small town where two people fall in love."
