Songfacts®:

  • This sensual slice of neo-soul is the debut single released by Ella Eyre. The British singer-songwriter first came to notoriety following her contributions to Rudimental's "Waiting All Night," Naughty Boy and Wiz Khalifa's "Think About It" and Tinie Tempah's "Someday (Place in the Sun)."
  • Ella Eyre said of her debut release: "I've always wanted to hit people in the face with my music, rather than tickle them. I've always been into punchy, loud songs - passionate, with a message. And I've always been really lyrical - I love the idea that someone has felt the same as me. I love honesty, brutality and rawness."
  • Eyre explained the song's meaning during an interview with MTV UK. "The story behind the song is basically an experience that I had with a guy," she said. "You know when you're young and you're having fun and it's all new and exciting and then they drop the three-word deal breaker on you and you're just like 'no, why did you do that?!' So then I just put it into a song, there you go."
