Right Now
by Ella Mai (featuring Chris Brown)

Album: Single release only (2017)

Songfacts®:

  • "Right Now" features Chris Brown. Ella Mai told ABC Radio that working with Breezy was "very weird and surreal," as it was something she'd dreamed of doing just that since she was a little kid.

She explained, "I'm a huge Chris Brown fan and I have been since I was 11 years old. So, I've always said it in my head: 'Oh, I'm gonna work with Chris Brown one day.'"

"But... you know when it's in front of you, it's like, 'OK, wow.' It was a little bit unexpected because [he] was listening to my song "Boo'd Up" on his Instagram story a couple months before we worked in the studio together," Ella continued. "But [the collaboration] was really organic, 'cause he showed that he liked my music."

"It was amazing working with him," she added. "We went in the studio. We recorded a couple songs. And he was super laid-back in telling me how much he loved my music."
