• Mylon Le Fevre was just 17 years old and in the Army when he wrote his first song in just 20 minutes, "Without Him." Mylon was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina at the time and one weekend he hitchhiked over 600 miles to join his family group, the LeFevres who were performing at a gospel convention in Memphis. Mylon sung this song onstage, not knowing that Elvis Presley was in the audience. After the concert, Elvis asked to meet the young songwriter and shortly thereafter, The King recorded it for his album, How Great Thou Art. Within the next year, over a hundred artists would record his song, making Le Fevre a wealthy and famous teenager.
• Le Fevre went on to embark on a rock and roll journey that included recording Mylon, We Believe, which is considered by some to be the first true "Jesus Rock" album, treatment for a drug addiction and playing with such artists as Eric Clapton, Elton John, Billy Joel, Little Richard, Steve Winwood, Mick Fleetwood and The Who. Le Fevre was inducted in 2005 into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, and two years later into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
