Songfacts®:

  • Lyricist Pete Wentz likes his cryptic titles and this is one of them. In a video interview Wentz refused to tell the New Musical Express what the title stands for. Instead, he said, people "will have to figure it out on their own."

Fans tried to figure it out for four years - with "We All Mean Something," "When All Missiles Shoot," and "Wentz Ate My Sideburns" being popular guesses - until Fall Out Boy drummer Andy Hurley spilled the beans on Twitter: "Waiter Actress Model Singer."
  • This was co-written by and features Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes. Drummer Andy Hurley told The Neptunes website about the collaboration with the hip-hop producer: "That was one of the coolest experiences, because I love Pharrell and I love hip-hop. He ended up being one of the nicest and most down-to-earth dudes. He made me kind of nervous because he has just done so many good songs."
  • This isn't Fall Out Boy's only foray into hip-hop on Folie a Deux, their fourth studio album. Rapper Lil Wayne guest stars on "Tiffany Blews" and a remix of the single "America's Suitehearts."

  • Alyssa from Tennesseein the last part when he says "And Mama, when we pray to the Lord Doesn't sit or stay Doesn't sit or stay" i hear "And Mama, when we pray to the Lord Does it sit or stay Does it sit or stay"
  • Liam from OhioGuys, I know I'm probably 9 years too late for this question, but listening to the lyrics, maybe it's Why Are Men Special? Anyone?
  • Aria from FloridaWhite. American. Male. Straight. ~ "I'm a young one stuck in the box of an old ones head. When all the others were just stirring awake, I'm trying to trick myself to fall asleep again." Compare "W.A.S.P." - White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. ~ Or it's Waiter Actor Model Singer. ;p
  • Arwen from AustraliaGuys, it's Waiter Actor Model Singer.
  • Pedro from Wilmette IlWe All Masturbate Sometimes...
  • Dean from Bronx, NyWentz. Ate. My. Sideburns.
  • June from New York City, NyWhere.are.my.slippers
  • Tonster from New Jersey, NjI believe it stands for We All Must Suffer because just think about it. doesn't it make sense!
  • Emily from Baltimore, Mdwams stands for when all missles shoot.
  • Noah from Sheboygan, Wi"my head's in heaven, my soles are in hell. Let's meet in the purgatory of my hips and get well." i think this is talking about a drug addiction and being high, but he feels terrible about it. And he tries escaping through sex. And the begining verse is saying he's younge, but he feels older bcuz of all the bad stuff that has happened to him. and while other ppl his age are going on and doing something with their lives, he's trying to escape it through drugs.
  • Amanda from Evansville, InIt is interesting how all of the songs directly about drugs are ones he says we "need to figure out on our own". There you go, kids, most of FOB's lyrics are about drugs, sex and horrible relationships. XD LOVE IT!
  • Nina from London, United Kingdomi swear it means "we all mean something"
  • Joey from North Barrington, IlI think it's "Waiter, Actor, Model, Singer" because it says so on http://theneptunes.org/fall-out-boy-wams-waiteractormodelsinger-album-version/. I assume this is The Neptunes' official site. I'm not sure where the four words come from, my guess is it's about one of the musicians that performs in the song, or maybe each word describes a past job of each member of FOB seperately. I don't know what they did for a living before music so it's just a guess.
  • Nicole from Your Mother, FlWentz Ate My Sideburns
  • Dylan from Onstead, MiW.A.M.S. actually stands for "Wet And Messy Sex"
  • Paquita from Milwaukee, WiIt stands for Wentz ate Mr. Stump! Lol...
