This song, along with the rest of the album was written in difficult circumstances following the tragic loss of the band's drummer, Jon Lee, who committed suicide.
Frontman Grant Nicholas (from Kerrang! magazine June 21, 2008): "This was the last one I wrote for the album and, I think, the best one on it. Sometimes, in England, people can really get behind someone who has been through hell. But I didn't want people to like us for that reason, I didn't want the sympathy vote because I wanted people to hear what a good album we had written. I think that happened in the end."
The song's video was at one point the second most played video on MTV UK during 2003. It won the 2003 IMA (Interactive Music Award) for Best Music Video Online.
