Songfacts®:

  • Ever since Florida Georgia Line sang in "Cruise" of driving down the back roads in their Chevy, the duo have made it clear they love their trucks.

    I got a new truck
    I got a new ride
    I got it suped up
    I like it too high

Here, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley sing of the joy and thrills that a jacked-up new ride brings.
  • Released as the third single from Life Rolls On on January 8, 2021, the feel-good anthem features the same kind of innocent, fun energy that characterized FGL's early hits such as "Cruise" and "This Is How We Roll."

"With 'New Truck' we were like, 'Man, this feels good. I just want to ride around in my truck, listen to this, and have a song to jam to,'" said Tyler Hubbard in a statement. "When any of our buddies get a new truck now, we can send it to them and say, 'Yo, bump this in the truck!'"
  • Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley wrote the song with:

Life Rolls On producer Corey Crowder.

Singer-songwriter Priscilla Renea, whose other credits include Pitbull's "Timber," Fifth Harmony's "Worth It," and Ariana Grande's "Imagine." Using the name Muni Long, she had a hit in 2022 with "Hrs And Hrs."

Moldova born songwriter and producer Jeff "Gitty" Gitelman, who was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his work on H.E.R.'s 2019 I Used to Know Her record.

Raysean Hairston, whose other credits include co-writing two songs on Mary J Blige's 2014 soundtrack album Think Like a Man Too.

Blake Redferrin, who also co-penned FGL's 6-Pack song "Countryside."
