Songfacts®:

  • Over a thundering bass beat, Florida Georgia Line pay tribute to boys with southern drawls who are living that country lifestyle.

Man, that town is small, boys
But you have a ball, boys
Homemade alcohol on a Saturday night
Yeah, truck's stuck, who you gon' call?
Pretty girl, who you gon' fall for?

Tyler Hubbard's hometown is Monroe, Georgia and Brian Kelley's is Ormond Beach, Florida, so they can both correctly affirm they're "one of y'all boys."
  • The song features singer-songwriter Hardy, who co-wrote the song along with Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Brett Tyler. Hardy co-penned eight of the songs on Can't Say I Ain't Country.
  • Hardy originally planned on recording the song solo for his first EP, then his manager Seth England, who also manages Florida Georgia Line, suggested asking Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley to sing on it. Hardy thought a better idea would be to propose to FGL that they cut the tune for Can't Say I Ain't Country and he hops on it.
  • Florida Georgia Line: "Just a good old country song, good throwback and good shout-out to all the country boys out there. It's just a party song. Turn this one up and I don't know, drink some Old Camp while you listen to it!"
