Songfacts®:

  • Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was born in Warren, Ohio but when he was three his parents relocated to Springfield, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C. After his parents divorced, Grohl grew up living with his mother in Northern Virginia and went to high school in Alexandria. Arlandria is a neighborhood located in the Northeastern portion of Alexandria; after his time in Seattle and L.A., Grohl moved back there as he preferred the ease of Virginia to the hedonistic lifestyle he'd been living on the West Coast.

Grohl previously name checked the neighbourhood on the There Is Nothing Left to Lose track "Headwires," where he sings, "The sun is on Arlandria."
