Songfacts®:

  • This celebration of bonds was co-written by Francis And The Lights' Francis Farewell Starlite, his frequent collaborator Aaron Lammer, former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij, Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and BJ Burton. Justin Vernon also supplied the vocals on the first verse.

The five writers also produced the track along with Haim collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid, pop hitmaker Benny Blanco and electronic producer Cashmere Cat.
  • The song was sampled by Chance the Rapper on his Coloring Book track "Summer Friends."
  • The one-shot video was filmed by Paper Towns' director Jake Schreier. The clip features Kanye West moodily standing in a room while Starlite does a solo dance number. He is eventually joined by Justin Vernon for a synchronized routine.
  • Francis & the Lights' links with hip hop acts date back to 2010 when the New York City based band opened up for Drake on his Campus Consciousness/Away From Home college tour. Francis Farewell Starlite also produced the Toronto MC's track "Karaoke."
