Songfacts®:

  • Much of Fred again's work is based on voice recordings of friends, sounds he finds on Instagram, and song samples, all of which he twists into dance tracks. This euphoric dance banger samples the London-based singer-songwriter Delilah Montagu's kitchen live performance of her 2021 single "Lost Keys."

"You know how sometimes if you see something in normal timing and then you see it in slow-mo, it's like, 'Oh, wow. There's a whole new emotional framing for this,'" Fred Again told Apple Music.
  • Inspired by his friend Delilah Montagu's song, Fred Again wrote this slice of house-music euphoria "about having a panic attack in a club, and needing your person to pull you out of it."
  • Fred Again co-produced "Delilah (Pull Me Out Of This)" with:

English post-rock and electronic musician Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden). He's released many solo albums since his 1999 debut set Dialogue. Four Tet's fifth full-length, There Is Love in You, reached both the UK top 40 and Billboard 200.

Regular Fred again collaborator Giampaolo Parisi. The Italian musician also played drums on the track, and his brother, Marco Parisi, contributed synthesizer.

Fred Again's manager Alex Gibson. They previously teamed up to co-produce Ed Sheeran's 2019 collaboration with Travis Scott, "Antisocial."
  • Fred again created "Delilah (Pull Me Out Of This)" in approximately 45 minutes. The track was built rapidly as part of his creative, sample-driven process; he finished the core production in under an hour thanks to this spontaneous inspiration.
