When Fred played the demo during a June 29, 2022 Boiler Room session broadcast from London, it garnered a massive reaction and went viral on social media. The English producer completed the track and released it as the second single from Actual Life 3 on July 29, 2022.
  • "Turn on the Lights Again" marks Fred Again's second collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, following his credit as a producer on the trio's Paradise Again track "Calling On."
  • French football club Paris Saint-Germain used the song to soundtrack a video showcasing their signing of Portuguese midfielder Vitinha.
