  • Freya Ridings grew up in Palmers Green, North London. Her father, Richard Ridings, is an actor and screenwriter. He featured in an early episode of Game Of Thrones, played Mr. Bumble in the BBC series Dickensian, and provides the voice for Daddy Pig in Peppa Pig.
  • Her loneliness at school led to a search for release through music. "I really struggled at school," Ridings told The Sun. "I was extremely dyslexic so I turned to music as an escape and a place where I could learn how to be myself."
  • Ridings attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon, England, from the age of 16. The BRIT School is a performing arts school that has produced many successful musicians, including Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Leona Lewis.
  • Ridings released her debut single, "Blackout," in May 2017. Her second single, "Lost Without You," was her breakthrough song, peaking at #9 on the UK Singles chart.
  • Freya Ridings married her folk singer partner Ewan J Phillips at a small ceremony in London in November 2022, just two and a half months after getting engaged. Their breakup in January 2020 and subsequent reconciliation inspired much of Ridings' second album, Blood Orange.
