  • After forming in Tennessee, the members of Fuel relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1994 where they performed at local venues. Their original name was Reel To Real, and they were a cover band.
  • Scallions joined the band when Reel To Real had a show in Albany, and their lead singer couldn't make it. He had been playing solo shows at local bars.
  • Bell wrote their songs.
  • Bell was not allowed to watch TV when he was younger. He credits this for his musical development, as he listened to albums instead.
  • All of the members had other jobs while they were playing in the band. Scallions worked in a lumberyard, Abercrombie was a welder, Miller a landscaper, and Bell managed a warehouse.
  • Miller popped out a rib while playing a show in Florida in 2001. He thought he was having a heart attack and was sure he was going to die.
  • The band asked Chris Daughtry to be their lead singer after hearing him perform their song "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" on American Idol. Daughtry turned them down so he could form his own group, and Fuel went with Troyn Green, formerly of the band Something To Burn, as their new lead singer. >>

  • The liner notes from their 1998 album Sunburn list all the members, including then new drummer, Kevin Miller, although session drummer Jonathan Mover actually played all the percussion on the album. The band photos also include Miller, who didn't play on the album at all.
  • In 2010, after various lineup changes and infighting, Fuel announced that it would reform with an altered lineup. According to singer Brett Scallions, "There is only one original of anything and that includes Fuel. The original lineup with Carl, Jeff, Jody and myself will always be something special to all of us, and our first Fuelies but it has been thirteen years since the original lineup was intact, and since then many great musicians have come and gone. The lineup I put together for Fuel is not meant to replace or diminish what any of the original members created. Just the opposite, it is to give our fans a live destination, and to keep the Fuel name alive for a new generation to discover. Maybe someday we'll all get on the same page and play together again, but life happens and the next thing you know you just can't jump on a bus and take off for a month, let alone a year."
  • Responding to the new Fuel lineup, founding member and guitarist Carl Bell declared, "Look, Brett sang all of this stuff on the bands biggest records, so it's pretty clear that the fans want to hear him singing Fuel songs, and that is what they are going to get. Our fans are important and they deserve a Fuel, even if it isn't an original lineup. Who knows maybe someday there will be an all original reunion. I have learned to never say never."
  • The 2007 Fuel album Angles and Devils features percussion from Motley Crue drummer, Tommy Lee and Ex-Vandals drummer, Josh Freese.
  • Fuel's 2003 album, Natural Selection, is named for the Darwinian Theory of the same name.

  • Hope from Florence, MtI like Fuel a lot. My favorite song would probably have to be "Falls On Me" or "Hemorrhage." They're both great though. I heard about Brett Scallions leaving and the whole Chris Daughtry thing. Last I heard, Daughtry said "no."
  • Alex from Bethlehem, PaMiller was fired in mid 2005. Scallions left the band in 2006 to pursue other musical options. Ex Godsmack drummer Tommy Stewart is rumored to be the new drummer and the band has contacted American Idol castoff Chris Daughtry about the lead singer role.
