  • George Strait co-wrote this song with his son Bubba and the songwriter Dean Dillon, who has who has also co-written several of the country star's previous singles. Prior to Twang, Strait had only recorded one other song that he wrote, "I Can't See Texas from Here" from his 1982 sophomore album, Strait from the Heart. He said in publicity materials: "My son's desire to write really inspired me. After writing a few songs with Bubba, I had the idea to call and see if Dean Dillon wanted to come to my ranch and write with us. He did, we had a great time, and we were able to come up with a few songs."
