Songfacts®:

  • This cover of the Travie McCoy tune by the Glee Cast reached #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, after it featured on the Fox musical comedy series.
  • The song features prominent vocals by cast member Chord Overstreet, who portrays transfer student Sam Evans. The actor/singer is the son of Country music singer-songwriter Paul Overstreet, whose own solo hits include the 1991 country #1 "Daddy's Come Around." Overstreet's songwriting credits include Ronan Keating's UK #1 "When You Say Nothing At All," Carrie Underwood's 2009 song "Look At Me" and Kenny Chesney's 2010 track "Round and Round." Chord told Billboard magazine: "I actually got my name because my dad is in the music business. I was the third (of six children) in my family born, and there are three notes in a chord, so that's how they came up with my name."
  • This was one of six debuts for the Glee Cast on the Hot 100 dated October 16, 2010. It meant that by that date they had charted a total of 75 songs, surpassing the Beatles for the most appearances on the chart by a non-solo act. Whilst the Fab Four tallied their 71 titles between 1964 and 1996, the Glee Cast achieved their total in just one year, four months and two weeks.
