Songfacts®:

  • Graham Nash married his third wife, the New York artist and photographer Amy Grantham, in April 2019 after divorcing his second wife of 38 years, Susan Sennett. Nash was also briefly married in the 1960s to first wife Rose Eccles (the inspiration for The Hollies' 1968 hit "Jennifer Eccles").
  • Nash recorded "When It Comes To You" for his 2023 album, Now. It is one of several tracks he recorded about his love for his wife Amy, alongside "Follow Your Heart" and "Love of Mine." "They are about her, because she changed my life for the better," he told Uncut magazine.
  • Nash co-produced Now with his longtime keyboardist, Todd Caldwell. Nash told Variety they were 90% done when Caldwell started playing some chords on piano.

"'No words, yet. Just changes,' he said. 'No, no, no, those are beautiful changes,' I told him. 'Let me think on that.' And in an hour-and-a-half, 'When It Comes to You' was written."
