Songfacts®:

  • This is a single from 2012 The Voice runner-up Gwen Sebastian's eponymous debut album after she signed with Flying Island Records via a distribution deal with Warner Music Nashville. She penned the tune with the Nashville songwriter Nicole Witt (Lauren Alaina's "Growing Her Wings"). "I wanted to release a song that had an uptempo feel to it but also had a story behind it," Sebastian explained. "It's a story of having strength and moving on."
  • The song was written on the day when Gwen Sebastian and Nicole Witt first met. "She had come in with a song title and some of the song written," Sebastian told The Boot, "kind of the idea going, and I loved it. And we just kinda went with it, and wanted to have one of those songs with a powerful message of, 'Hey, I'm not gonna sit around and wait on you. I'm not gonna let you cheat on me. If this happens, I'm gonna get out, and all you get is a suitcase. You don't get me.' We just wanted to tell it in a way that it had a story to it, and I think we did that."
