Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from Made, Hawk Nelson's sixth album. Earlier in 2012, the band underwent a lineup change after former vocalist Jason Dunn left to pursue his solo career. Longtime Hawk Nelson guitarist Jonathan Steingard transitioned into the front man position making them into a trio with bassist Daniel Biro and drummer Justin Benner. This was their first release after the transformation.
  • Steingard wrote the song with Matt Hammitt (Sanctus Real) and Made producer Seth Mosley. The single is about the power of words and is a product of a conversation the vocalist had with Hamitt and Mosley. "We were talking about how easy it is to forget how impacting we can be in the lives of the people around us just with our words," explained Steingard.
  • The song features MercyMe frontman Bart Millard. It was Millard who suggested that Steingard should step up to the plate and become Hawk Nelson's new lead singer after the departure of Jason Dunn.
