• In a 2022 Songfacts track by track, Heidi Talbot described this tune as "a hymn of hope, with Mark Knopfler's guitar gently shadowing my vocal. We originally recorded this with just piano and vocals but went back to the pre-production version I had recorded with my baritone ukulele. Sometimes it's what you don't play (or say) that has the most resonance. I love how sensitive all the musicians on the album are to this truth."
• Knopfler also added his guitar skills to the album's single "Empty Promise Land," a duet between Talbot and her producer Dirk Powell.
• Sing It For A Lifetime is Talbot's eighth solo album and was recorded at her Edinburgh home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Knopfler, who is based in London, was one of a handful of artists that Talbot worked with via real-time sessions during the recording process.
