Songfacts®:

  • This infectious uptempo number was recorded by the Greek/Swedish singer-songwriter Helena Paparizou in both Greek and English. Her second solo single, it was backed by "You Set My Heart On Fire."

The song was written by Alexander Papaconstantinou, Marcus Englof and Samuel Waermo, the first two of whom produced it. The Greek version runs to 3 minutes 5 seconds, the English radio edit runs to 3 minutes 6 seconds, and the longest of its several mixes runs to 7 minutes 42 seconds.

Although she performed it at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, the song was not entered, but she actually won the 2005 event in Kiev with "My Number One." >>

  • The song is more pure pop than mambo, but with those tasty vowels, "mambo" sings very well and translates to different languages. In the song, Paparizou has found a guy who makes her heart move like a mambo.
  • This was a huge hit in Greece, where it went to #1.
