  • This is part two of a two-part suite "She's Mine," where J. Cole opens up about the people "more important" than him. Here, the Fayetteville artist raps here about how the birth of his son caused him to shed "tears of joy I think filled up the room." A personal message to his little boy, Cole describes the feelings of love he has for him as a father.

    Because of Cole's use of the female pronoun in the song title, it was initially believed that his child was a daughter. However, in subsequent interviews the rapper revealed that he is the proud father to a baby boy. Cole confirmed the infant's gender on the 2018 track "Boblo Boat."

  • Running parallel through both this song and much of 4 Your Eyez Only is the story of Cole's childhood friend, whom he refers to under the nom de plume of James McMillan Jr. Like the rapper, James fell in love and started a family, in his instance a daughter named Nina, but he was killed in his early 20s. Many fans believe that the album consists of Cole imagining James recounting his life to Nina so she can always have an image of her daddy.
