Songfacts®:

  • "Drink All Day" is a breezy reggae-style ode to sipping a margarita or a Corona Light on the beach.

But you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning
And get to sipping on the docking bay just watching that tide roll in, yeah
Well, life's sweeter than a margarita so you better get to pouring
'Cause you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

The song celebrates the simple joys of island life.
  • The song was written by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley, Daniel Ross, Ernest K. Smith and Josh Miller. Jake Owen told The Boot he recorded the tune because the summer-friendly lyrics were right in his ballpark, but it's also "one of those songs I just never had heard written before."
  • The working title was "Catamaran Dan," which Owen still thinks should be the title, even though "drink all day" is the song's hook.
