Songfacts®:

  • This upbeat party track finds DeRulo singing about keeping a relationship spontaneous. The Whatcha Say singer told Billboard magazine he recorded it whilst inebriated. "I've got a song on the album that I [recorded] totally drunk... 'cause that's just what it was at that time," he said. "I can never recapture that. Me being sober would just not be the same, because at that moment that's what I was feeling and how I'm saying it is exactly how it's supposed to be said."
  • DeRulo on the song's meaning: "Basically, when I'm in the relationship, I wished things would just blow… make it up as we go rather than trying to force anything."
