Songfacts®:

  • This romantic duet with Meghan Trainor was a late addition to the Know album after Jason Mraz's producer buddy Andrew Wells suggested the two should collaborate. Mraz was done recording songs for his LP when Wells, who had just finished producing Trainor's Treat Myself record said he thought the pair would work well together. The hook-up produced this bubbly, idiosyncratic love song, which Mraz thought so good he pushed back some deadlines so it could be included on the set.
  • The song was inspired by some of the quirky things that Mraz loves about his wife Christina Carano. Trainor and Mraz were talking about their relationships with their partners, when the "I'm Yours" singer commented that his wife "has these cute things she does." Trainor told Billboard:

"I was like, 'What do you mean?' [He said] 'When I make her a cup of coffee, I'll be like, 'Is it good?' And she'll say, 'Oh, more than friends.' I thought that was so cute. We were like, 'Let's write an adorable love song about being more than friends, and low-key we'll know this is a wink to your wife.'"
