• Javier Colon is an American singer and songwriter of Dominican and Puerto Rican origin, born in Stratford, Connecticut. Following his college graduation, Colon joined The Derek Trucks Band as their vocalist in August 2000. After touring with the group for nearly two years, he left them in April 2002 to pursue a solo career under the performing name of Javier.
  
  On August 5, 2003 Colon released his debut album, Javier, on Capitol Records. It consisted of mainly R&B songs, with a mixture of other genres such as jazz and funk, as well as a little influence of the singer's Latin roots. His first single, entitled "Crazy", reached #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 whilst the LP peaked at #91 on the Billboard 200.
  
  On March 7, 2006 Colon released his second album Left Of Center, which again consisted of songs mainly in the R&B/Neo-soul genre, but again mixed in other styles. However none of the singles had any major success and the album only reached #37 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
  
  Later that year, Colon's contract was terminated and he became an independent artist with his own label, Javier Colon Music. Beginning on April 26, 2011, Colon appeared as a contestant on the first season of NBC's reality talent show The Voice. On the first show, he sang Cyndi Lauper 1984 hit, "Time After Time." All four judges opted to take him as one of their finalists, and Colon eventually chose Adam Levine as his coach/mentor.
  
  After getting through to the final, Colon sung "Stitch by Stitch," then a cover of Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" with Levine. The following night Colon and Stevie Nicks performed Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" together. At the end of the show Colon was announced as the winner, receiving $100,000 in cash and a Universal Republic recording contract.
• "Stitch by Stitch" was produced by Colon, his coach Adam Levine, and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who's also worked with the likes of Brandy, Destiny's Child, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson. The song was written by guitarist and songwriter Dave Bassett (Lisa Loeb), former Evanescence member David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry) and Lindy Robbins (Selena Gomez & the Scene, Demi Lovato).
