Songfacts®:

  • Jax Jones teams up with former Britain's Got Talent star Calum Scott for this contagious, high-energy song.

Calum Scott first rose to prominence with his version of Robyn's "Dancing On My Own," which he performed on Britain's Got Talent. After coming sixth in the contest, he released it as a single the following year, peaking at #2 on the UK Singles Chart. Since then he's clocked up worldwide hits with "You Are the Reason" and "Where Are You Now."
  • Scott sings a persuasive plea for giving a lover another chance. He urges his love interest to make the most of tonight and spend it together. If they're open to try again, he asks them to place their hand on their heart and whistle, and he'll return to them.
  • Jax Jones co-wrote "Whistle" with:

Scouting for Girls vocalist Roy Stride. Besides his work with Scouting For Girls, Stride has also co-written hits for Union J ("Tonight (We Live Forever)") and 5 Seconds Of Summer ("Good Girls").

Josh Wilkinson, who co-wrote "Tonight (We Live Forever)" and "Good Girls" with Stride.

Welsh songwriter Jon Maguire. He co-penned Calum Scott's "You Are the Reason."

One of Joel Corry's regular production partners, Neave Applebaum.

Jones produced the track with Maguire, Applebaum, and Wilkinson.
  • Jax Jones co-directed the video with Charlie Sarsfield. They filmed it on an old bus that Jones used to ride in his teenage years in Elephant & Castle, South London, traveling to his music classes. "Using those routes allowed me to show my version of London," he said, "such as the multicultural aspects that influenced me musically and make up so much of who I am today."
