  • This is the opening track of Life in 1472, Jermaine Dupri's debut album. The song's main claim to fame is that this was one of Kanye West's first production credits. "I never knew that it was this dude on the beats that was telling my dad that he was going to be bigger than me and talking crazy," Dupri recalled to Rap Radar. "He's [always] been the same."
  • Wondering what was Kanye West's first official production credit? It came two years earlier when he helmed eight tracks on Down to Earth, the 1996 debut album of Chicago rapper Grav.
  • The title of Life in 1472 refers to the year of Dupri's birth, 1972. It spent two weeks at #1 on the Top R&B Albums chart, while reaching #2 on the Billboard 200. The record was also Grammy nominated for Best R&B Album. However, Dupri is best known for his production work for such artists as Kris Kross ("Jump"), Usher ("Burn") and Mariah Carey ("We Belong Together").
